Chevrolet Corvette Sport Car
The Sports Car Chevrolet Corvette, which is manufactured by Chevrolet since 1953. Today is built on a General Motors assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but in the past was built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri. The National Corvette Museum and the annual National Corvette Homecoming are also located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Taking its name from the corvette, a small, maneuverable fighting frigate (the credit for the naming goes to Myron Scott), the first Corvettes were virtually hand-built in Flint, Michigan in Chevrolet's Customer Delivery Center, now an academic building at Kettering University.
